Some people might wonder how and why the Graco Tradeworks 150/Graco x5 made it on the list. The Graco 150 provides a cheap, simple, light weight (16 lbs) portable solution to small spraying applications such as front doors and misc items. Fitted with a FFT 210, this little pump that could might be the first thing you turn to for small tasks and it’s a ‘make or break’ backup pump. It also provides more flexibility with tip selection vs. the Graco ProShot.

Here is an email I received where the reader brings up a very valid point.
Hi Jack, I’m a painter based in the UK I find most of your tips great and use many of them to good effect. As good as they are and using superior products helps, don’t you agree that if you dont have hand speed and body speed, i.e. you move fast they count for very little.
The reader is absolutely correct in stating you can have the best methods, the best systems and the best product but each person will produce varying results based on their ability to work.
The purpose of the jack pauhl site is to provide my personal benchmarks and what I personally am capable of producing using various product and systems. Even when I post videos of the product in use I am at times still challenged on the product typically because some readers cannot believe it. I’ve been challenged on the job working with other contractors asking me to show them what they saw in a video of mine. The goal here is to reflect what is capable using products.
Jack
It would be helpful if you noted the product you have switched to on the list that has been revised to delete products you no longer use. Some of those products are ones I was planning to use or have gotten already.
I will try to update the list this evening.
Hey man, just wanted to say how great it is to go through your website and all your online vids; I’ve learned a lot and really appreciate what you’re doing.
Like the previous commenter I’m also curious about what products you’ve switched to since making this original Best Of list, as well as the ‘mystery primer’ used in your primer showdown back in June.
Sucks that a bunch of your Google+ entries got wiped out.
