Unleash Your Talent Ergonomically
The Professional Ergonomic P2.5AS by Proform Technologies is the second brush to hit our test lab from the Wyoming company offering a new twist in handle design plus filament advancements. I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical about this brush but spent more time than usual testing it because of the superior finish it leaves with acrylic trim paints – simply amazing results. It wasn’t until later I noticed I was not holding the brush like it was designed.
Unlike a pen, this brush is designed to be held a certain way or at least a variation of it. Proform has photos of suggested methods on the link above. Holding the brush by design was unnatural and awkward at first but quickly got the hang of it. I tried several alternative death grips but noticed it cuts super straight when held by design – in a way teaching you how to hold a brush for stability. I settled on the ‘Standard Hold” method the majority of the time.
The filaments are a blend of PBT (seen on the Picasso™) and PET. The brush is fairly soft but seems to be a non-issue moving paint. The acid dipped tipping leaves a fine finish and cuts very sharp lines effortlessly like we first experienced on the Picasso™. The P2.5AS didn’t break any new records for us, but it was a real pleasure to paint with.
